P & P Insurance
This is a question that maybe the homeworkers are best placed to help me with!
Have any of you managed to buy the necessary 2 mill public and product liability insurance WITHOUT employee/buildings or contents? Its a genuine question. My shop shares a building with a post office which is already completely insured buildings and contents. However, I searched high and low and could not buy P&P insurance on its own. I ended up paying £150 for minor contents and transit insurance with it. It'll be due for renewal soon and i'd dearly love to save some money without putting myself in a risky situation. |

I share a building too - the whole building is owned by my landlord and is insured by him, for which we pay a proportion of the yearly premium (£170 odd quid) there are flats above and another 2 shops, one either side of me. I have my own insurance for public liability (and employers liability as i have a girl who works with me), product liability, working away from premises, goods in transit, money on premises, stock, etc which i paid £285 for this year - this totals me at £455 per year to insure my business, so £150 isnt bad. I used to pay £65 a year for homeworkers insurance so you're coming in somewhere in the middle.
I got my insurance through my bank (natwest) but also had good quotes from AXA and cornhill direct - the biggest problem i had was being in a listed building!! |

Could try Bridge Insurance up in Manchester. They have a special florist insurance with Norwich Union. Very good not a bad price and if you need to make a claim very good. I got my money 16 days after the burglar took everything electrical and broke all sorts and just renewed and premium same as last year even after claim..
