Sounds like a good idea to me. I would suggest using a straw base wreath (the type they use in holland) and I would glue them on or maybe attach them with cocktail sticks. I think I will try this as I have some of the wreath in my cupboard. I will let you know who I get on.

Hey MD, that was me! Something I want to make too but boss won't hear of it. I would use a twiggy ready made wreath and base it sparingly with brightly coloured sisal then attach each sweetie with one end only so if you needed to eat it - with glue gun. I'd also be gettting a photo off to the manufacturer ....just to see if I could get a tin for free. Hve fun and post your pic.

I'VE DONE IT TODAY!!!! It looks bloody brilliant!! I had great fun,,my girls thought I had lost the plot though. I'll try and remember to take my camera to shop tomorrow and take pic for you. I glued the sweets on and used a stick based wreath,,12" but didn't think about sisal round it,,might add it tomorrow..and a bow!! It made me laugh looking at it and I think its a great bit of fun. Am gonna put in on door with a basket of sweeties by it for the shoppers on saturday at the xmas extravaganza!!

We often do handtied bqs with sweets in them. I wire them and stick them in between the flowers and add a thin ribbon to each so the person who gets it can pull out the sweets without ruining the bq. Of course I too buy a bigger bag than I really need....a bq like this takes time and energy. I have to feed myself in between tying...and then there are my girls who eat chocolates like its going out of style!
Last year for x-mas I did a HUGE bq with a wreath in it out of grapevines and hung the chocolates and sweet stuff tyed with robbons to the wreath. I placed it on my front table so all the custmrs that came in could take one off the bq and munch while waiting. Great success. In the evening we refilled the missing ones. I made the bq with amaryllis and had it in the shop for over two weeks. Added plus...my customers that came in the first week and then the second week again were amazed at how well the bq held up and ordered a smaller version for themselves!
