Carrington.....12,000 records!...bet you don't get to watch a lot of T.V. eh
Know what you mean though. I've been busy trying to do the same thing in Oz and it's starting to look like it's no better over here. Real nightmare trying to sort out the real ones from the 'pretend' ones. Yellow pages helps a bit when you search on an area and they give you the option to "exclude 47 businesses that service this area but don't actually live there". When i was in the shop i used to get loads of calls like...xxx directory...can we confirm your details in our database? My response was usually....."oh yeah...you're just building up a list that you can sell...go and get a real job!" and i'd put the phone down. Thinking about it now though, there are dozens of directories that list florists for free and yes they make their money out of advertising along the way, but doing what i was doing, just may get you de-listed, which means all that's left is the 'pretend' florists who really need to be there and that's not good news. The other problem is that a lot of the directories probably just nick their data from other directories, so any junk is just replicated many times over. So even seeing something half a dozen times doesn't mean it's for real.
