We're not all like that. If some one willing to teach me i'm willing to learn but then i can't call myself a college girl. At 35 i'd say i was more your mature student ![]()

I started my apprenticeship at 23 as opposed to the other students in my class who were an average of 18, and I found that I enjoyed school and homework and all that came with it much more than the others. Maybe it has to do with age with some people.....now don't get all offended if you're still 'young'!!! Each person is different but MY experience with MYSELF was that at 18 or 19 I thought that I was the center of the universe and the world revolved around ME...at 23 I started learning-fast- that I needed to kick myself in the ass, not wait for someone to do it to me! I enjoyed school much more because I was a bit more mature (cough cough)to appreciate what i was learning.
As I say, each person is different and I'm sure there are "mature" 19 year olds out there!!!! Of course my fingers were itching to show my newly learned talent, but my back-then-boss put it to me gently to get off my high horse and start at the bottom of the ladder and work my way up. I took her advice. It helped! Maybe a gentle but serious talk would help with those "college students" who think they can conquer the world in a day...my full-timer started right after she was done her apprenticeship. She is a very creative person and very responsible and the customers warmed up to her fast as did I...until she ordered flowers for a wedding without consulting me..she didn't even tell me she had taken the wedding!(I was off home for 3 days)!!! My dutchman(!) called me to confirm the 40 white callas at an enormous price and I had no idea what he was talking about...nice! We had a VERY serious talk about dealing with this situation and to put it bluntly..my girl was put in her place. She dealt with the bride herself and I let her have a go at fixing things..it worked. A bit of slack where slack is allowed and a serious "talk" now and again and the 'younguns' should be back on track! Remember...we all started out with this enthusiasum didn't we!?! ![]() ![]() ![]()
