Selling Holly
Hello everyone,
I'll be pruning back my HUGE holly trees in the next week and trying to find out if it's something that would be worth trying to sell round my local florists. (West Yorkshire area). They've got a fantastic load of berries on them this year, and I'd like to know if its worth the effort. Would you want it kept on the larger branches to snip to size or trimmed down to, say, 1 foot lengths? Or am I too late in the season? All advice gratefully received Munchinmac |

I would say most florists would buy it off you, as we have probably only bought in a little (if any) as yet. You could even approach a wholesaler or two at the flower market if you wanted shut of the lot all at once, although you wouldn't get as much for it.
1 foot lengths is probably best for florists as we don't have much room, and that size will easily plonk into a bucket without having to do anything to it ![]() I suppose chesterfield is too far for you (we're nearly in yorkshire!) but i'll have some if you happen to pass this way ![]() good luck sarah |
