Hiya

I tried doing a hand tie for my mum last week.

We have only practiced it the one time at college, I dont think it's an assesment, quite odd really as they seem very popular.

Mine didn't look very round and I wasn't pleased with the end result at all, but of course mum was very polite

Hurts your wrist after a while, and I too found at one stage I'd tied it so tight that I was breaking the stems, poor flowers had been mis-handled so much by the time I'd done.

I definately need alot more practice

Belinda

Does anyone need about 25,000 flower pots?
I used to think that when i retired i would grow things from cuttings so i kept all the empty flower pots in a big pile (now a mountain)down the garden. Now it looks like that's not going to happen (not here at least) and i think what a waste of plastic. Suppose it's a bit like yoghurt pots & margarine tubs?

Likewise..wife is direct opposite to me. If we haven't used it in the last 24 hours...out it goes. I'd hate to think what the place would look like if we were both collectors. 'Steptoe and son?'

Belinda, keep practicing the hand-tied. I made up another last night and it was much better (although far from perfect).

Fly2hi,

I'll try to remember to write a cheque out tonight and pop it in the post to you. I'll let you know when it is on the way. I got your address from your website. Thanks for the offer of free postage! :-)

Cheers
