Well its gone ordering flowers for mothers day next (wow) I got in the van this morning at 07.00 got out at 18.00 tonight had one brew all day is that normal? We also had another driver going untill around 16.00. Its not good is it but you got to make hay well sun shines.

We are only a small family shop in the begining of our third year but we went flat out all day at 18.15 our shop went dead. Had only one bouqet of red roses left had other stuff but in general was very good.

We had a weird one, yesterday was really busy, today was quiet in comparison to previous years, but overall was our best VD yet all red rose gone by 2 p.m. Found some flower quality was a bit poor though

very simular to you in my 3rd year too and a really goos valentines have doubled on everything or more than, had around 25 dels last year but this year it touched 60!!!!! wtf............

A good incentive to what to expect for mothers day best get re advertising for that florist!!!!!!!!

Glad to hear everyone seems to have had a gud valentines day and we did too. Well we must have had a only managed to eat a kit kat biscuit all day. Thank God the panic is over even had a few funeral pieces as well so all in all not a bad day And now for Mother's Day

Yes got to agree about the flower quality some cases not good and also the price. We were informed by our suppliers that this is because VD day Mothers day and Russian ladies day are altogether? Suppose you are in thier hands and got to go with it.

We had a pathetic VD

Takings were down on last year, number of customers down on last year & I cut my rose order as we had a lot left (about 100) last year and were STILL left with over 50 this year!!??

roll on next year when its on a saturday(!) great - even quieter!

am well and truly fed up and couldn't give two shits about mothers day at the moment

if its on sat.. it should be busier,

Due to the fact that a lot of peeps (men) finish early on fridays giving them more chance to call in and order, obviously on sat the same applies, biggest drawback on the sat would be delivering, they will all expect them early and the traffic will be mental also You ladies like to get to town to do some shopping on the Sat's which would mean a lot more time on spent arsing about on each delivery finding either a nice neighbour or a safe spot to leave them,,

this years vals was virtually identical to last year for us, which isnt good due to the fact that for the last 15 yrs or so, (except one) we have improved every year..... ... I must say though that we have had a heck of a lot of m/day orders already and if thats anything to go by then im guessing m/day is gonna be busier than expected. (hopefully)

Hey Arum,hope your not as down as this post suggests,iv'e had some iffy peaks over the years(this one was a good un)but there have been bummers when you wonder why we put all the effort in.If there is one small crumb of consolation,its that if turnover/profit is down,you do at least pay less tax next year(sorry thats the best crumb i could come up with)

We had a pretty good one - no major disasters whatsoever and I was very worried in the lead up because our shop is half the size it was last year and we've got some very new staff. About the same numbers wise as last year.

Oh, that was Valentines Day - VD Day is a different story! (still got that rash)
