My wholesaler just rang me to say its because of Russian ladies day, apparantly most of the foliage supplies have been sent over there.

It's one of the biggest buying days and ties in with International Womens Day which happens on March 8th. Russia pays the highest price for flowers and foliage and this is a big day which is why we flagged it as a problem back in janaury. I'm not surprised prices are going up and supplies are short.
