If they had the plants in stock and had already agreed to send them, then to me a sale is a sale, no matter who its to, and i'll sell my stuff on a first come first serve basis, not wait and wonder if a regular customer might need them instead.
If they were that busy then im sure sosas would have picked them up instead. |

Carrington I don’t know how you can liken it to a customer asking us to re-wrap someone elses product. I would liken it more to one of my business customers that order once in a while off us asking for an order which we agreed to. Then after I just decided not to do the order, lecturing them about using us more regularly . It just wouldn’t happen. If we ever decided that we couldn’t fulfil an order, no matter how busy were I would let the customer know.
Yes I would obviously have arranged to pick them up if they had said they couldn’t deliver them for me.

oops ... sorry didn't explain myself very well. Done in haste. Nope Turner Makin shouldn't have promised and then let Sosas down ... that's not on and I will talk to Michael when I get a chance in case it was a communication error so he knows. What I was trying to say is that wholesalers are also finding it tough and as a result may get tougher and that everyone should be aware. I'll go find a shovel! C |

If they had said to Sosas at the begining that they were sorry they couldnt supply her then I could see their point. However, telling her she could get the plants and then not deliver them without a phone call! Then so send the e-mail rather than phone her and explain why the change of heart.
What if Sosas had already accounted for some of those plants after being told she could get them?? Last edited by Amanda's; 02-05-2008 at 09:14 AM. Reason: sp. |

My take on this would be that if I had three customers come into my shop at the same time (chance would be a fine thing!!) one of whom was a regular customer, the other two first-timers, all wanting the same thing I wouldn't distinguish between any of them. As far as I am concerned they are all customers and if I can supply them with what they have ordered then I will regardless of the fact that one is a regular customer. ALL customers should be treated the same.

I used to use the flying dutchman for the bulk of my flowers - (probably beacause I was lazy & it was easy cos they called on me), and my local wholesaler for the odd bit & bob. I can understand that the local wholesaler must have thought I was using them - (I was really).
I have since started to use my local wholesaler for the bulk. I have also discovered that they hold a bigger range than a lorry can hold & they are quite a bit cheaper! Changing my buying habits have been a good descision. |
