I know that's probably a thicko question but I wondered that if you sacked to person for her bad attitude ect would't that be fair enough and embarrass her into just going away? Or maybe start issuing warnings and leave it a month or two and then do it and she can't say she didn't have a chance to improve.
Where sacking is concerned you have to follow all the procedures and guidelines for disceplinary, and you need a good reason for disceplining someone and as far as i know it has to be verbal the written and so on.
Its alot more complex than simply saying , sadly!!!!

Only one we've been able to sack instantly for was on grounds of Gross Misconduct. Even then she walked away with a huge cheque but still had the audacity to try and claim more, report us for negligence (thank the lord we do keep an accident book) and write me rather nasty letters. However stood our ground, checked our facts and discovered we'd actually paid even more than we had to, made that clear and she gave up. All the bally red tape is a nightmare and the days when you could jsut say you're rubbish at your job, Bye Bye have long gone.
