Ever since I bought my shop I have wanted to change it's name!

I HATE IT!

It was inherited from the previous owner who was ....... you guessed it "JENNIFER".

The time has never seemed right to change it up until now. I have just bought a brand new van, which needs sign writing, I am at the bottom of all my stationary after the peak, the paper advertising is all about to be renewed etc etc

Have any of you changed a long established shop name?
Have you any tips or problems you think I may encounter?

I have a few ideas about a new name but it's a bit like naming a baby ....... every time you discuss it with people they give you a reason not to like it!

May be you might have some suggestions for a Zingy new name?

I changed the name of my shop as soon as I took it over, it too was named after the previous owner. For a few months we traded as 'new name' at 'old name' until I got bored with it. Straight off I was using my new branding on letterheads, bus cards, ads etc, had the shop repainted with my colour, had the van and the shop front signwritten with the new name. I experienced no real problems with the name change, people knew who we were, but we are in a really prominent position on the High St. I still get the odd person ringing up asking 'is that "old name"' even after 4 years. I did lose a customer this Vals cos he couldn't remember our shop name and 118 gave him my competitor's details, but he did come in to try and collect from us and was given a bollocking cos he's a regular customer, the fool hahaha.

So, go for it Treen, just do it, and do it in a oner.

I think what's stopped me up 'til now is I've never been really happy with anything I've come up with.

That's why I thought you lot might be able to help.

I'd really like something that is relevant from a web keyword point of view if possible.

I'd like to get some input first Jake ...... at the mo I think they're a bit crap!

you can work with it..."F in Flowers" or "F in Florist"................no more boring(apologies)Jennifleurs....your up there with the "R SOLES" for shoes catchy names brigade....i did try this name out in front of locals and council as popular as Heather Mills at a Beatles convention,but it could be a go'er!!!!!!..smackers to ya xxxxxxx
