Where do you all advertise your businesses or is it word of mouth?? I'm keen to get some more business for the times I don't have weddings/balls/events.

Save money by not advertising and focusing time on bringing in conract work. 1 day of door knocking can reap nice all year bread and butter work.

Advertising can be a tricky one, its expensive in most forms and unless it draws a huge return it can sometimes be more expensive than its worth. That said contracts can be hard to come by too. Business cards, which alot of people will keep and word of mouth are prob the best forms of advertising.

just one thing i do now and again when i am quiet is give a very good hairdressers (expensive one) a free arrangement for their reception. Limited one that does not cost you much and all the ladies who lunch see it and they will spend. I got quite a few new customers from this. only an idea, where are you from by the way as reluctant to give out advice to someone when i do not know where they are
