Just to let you know that if you have any weddings coming up , that ILLUSION roses are no longer grown!!!!

I had a wedding with them for weekend jsut gone and had to sub with Cezzanne.

When I asked my supplier, they stated that although popular for weddings, they didn't sell all year round! So they have been dropped. Has anyone else heard this???

no i havent and will double check this info with my wsaler as i have just promised a bride them. all that marketing material they did as well. you know this really irratates me, i have come across roses that have been grown for just two seasons - it simply is not on. I do like cezanne but illusion are much much bigger and colours are really different. thanks for the info though orchid, just peeved cos this bride took a while and thought i had it covered. never mind!!! cheers

I was wondering if someone could help me. I thought there was a chocolatey coloured rose, maybe metallica?, that was available but struggling to find it. Also, has anyone used the brown gerbera? is it a true brown and can you get it easily? I have a chocolate brown themed wedding to do and I really want to use some chocolatey flowers (if poss!)

I found this out about 2 months ago. Luckily I was ordering it for a bridal fair and was told by wholesaler. I had planned on using it for a few weddings this year and emailed the grower direct for confirmation. Unfortunately they were able to confirm that it had been withdrawn. I've kept the email as evidence for any brides that are dubious.

I think it's a shame not least as you can't open a bridal magazine at the minute without seeing them.

Have used choc gerb for brown themed wedding think I put a pic in gallery of but they are a rust colour although look more orange in pic

Yes I heard the same thing about ILLUSION. I wonder if they had quality problems?

Michele, Snowy is right, the gerbs are not really chocolatey although they are a nice shade and kind of rusty like snowdrop says. Why not use brown foliage?

Michelle as far as I know they have stopped with metallica/metallina too due to quality issues
