Loulou, Dont think it matters what name your shop is called.. Most people wont remember it anyway. 4 yrs on, people still ask "is it flower something"...and "what will write the cheque out to"... Dont really like my shop name as it reminds me of an indian take-away he he...
Had a small shop called flower cabin coz the building was tiny. Then moved and name did not suit new shop so changed it to flower palace...
Now moving again again and wonder should I change it to Flower Kingdom ...But no, every paper, business card ect are flower palace, so ill stick to it....

I nearly called mine Abfab flowers, glad I didnt, dont really like it now. Since I opened....I may be imagining this.... but theres a shop 10 miles away named itself Almondblossoms and another one 7 miles away named itself Cherryblossoms, Ifeel like they have stole my name even though they are not the same, mines is Appleblossoms by the way

Thank you for your replies, you ve put my mind at ease.
When I was thinking about the name for the shop this did run through my mind but then I thought people are going to remember me for my work not my name, I think I was caught at a vulnerable moment!!

I can't change the name so soon after opening I really do not think that would do the business any favors. I will make more of a point when advertising that we don't just do 'funky'!

Its swings and roundabouts really because I get alot of people coming and phoning the shop for 'something different' and thats what being a florist is all about these days especially with so many companies offering floral services we need to be different to stand out from the crowd. Maybe Im wrong???

Absolutely agree you've got to differentiate yourself to stand out from the crowd. I like Funky Flowers (am fond of alliteration!) and it wouldn't put me off funeral ordering - I would choose the best florist regardless of name.
