chargeback
Hi everyone. hope somebody can help me with advice on this situation... 13 Feb customer placed order over the phone for £200.00. we delivered it. now we received letter from bank saying that cardholder is denying this thansaction and money will be withdrawn from our account. I spoke to bank and they said that customers name and cardholders name is not matching and that is why they cant stop this process and its only our own problem. tried to ring customer - his phone is dead. also card wasnt reported as lost or stolen. I dont know what to do.....

if you have their address you might be able to track them down. We always take the card holders name and billing address, we use the details on the card machine to check it is correct. This gives you a little protection. But if the bank are saying the name doesnt match it's not sounding hopeful.
If you ever get a an order that is a bit suspect you can phone the number on your card machine, they will give you advice about the transaction and you can ask the card company for authorisation. Sometimes they will actually phone the customer themselves to check they have made the purchase

Yes is the only way especially for large amounts but unfortunately if it is fradulent unless the culprit is caught you have lost your money if it is the cardholder and they are denying purchase then you loose out

yeah defo worth a try, they might be able to track the sender down via the recipient. I assume the sender will have put his real name on the card message so no weaseling out of that at least.
Think I've said this before but I've also found that people wanting champagne, chocs and flowers tend to be dodgy as well
