A spreadsheet is ok if you just want to list everything and hand it to your accountant to sort out but it does have it's limitations. If you can invest the time and use a proper accounts package you will get a lot more from it and probably save yourself some money in the long run.

I had to pay my accountant more when I had a bookeeper because it took him so long to wade through all the paper she generated so gone back to doing it myself and I also use an accounts book not the compuer saves me about 100 quid a year in a/c's fees plus the savings from the bookeeper (which just about covers the cost of the hair colour needed to hide the grey bits)
