When we did work for the FD they took 25%, plus they got free delivery, plus they expected us to bow and scrape. Certainly would not recomend this! Although we did about $1500-$2000 worth of work every month. It was ok when the deal first started 10 years ago, but in the end really wasn't botherd when we lost the contract.

todox, thats how i feel it is for me now, the fd is awaiting my price list.....so....i just hope if they drop me due to my discount being less than it was i can recoup it from sales in the shop....lucky we have had quite a few walk in funeral jobs in the 3 weeks we have had no orders of them, if it keeps up we will be fine ![]()

Been saying since i opened that one of the FD's here uses one shop the whole time. I approached him with a contract offer and he declined saying it wasnt fair to stick to one shop ...
A friends mum died a couple of months back, she came in to order her flowers and told me that the FD had suggested she went to the other shop. FD's...can't live with them...cant tell them exactly what you think of them either grrrr ![]()

well, our local funeral director seems to be using the home worker near me instead of me now....havent had anything off of him for at least a month. She is obviously offering him more discount
. I was going to ring him but have changed my mind because I already give a discount of 10% and free delivery. Im especially peeved because a couple of years ago he was having new booklets printed and the printing company contacted me. I told the FD that I would go in his booklet but he would have to make it worth my while, and he agreed. I must admit he has given me quite a bit of work but the advert was £700!!!!!!!!! I think he gets it redone every few years so she can pay this time round, and I'll be there in the sideline waiting for the funeral director to realise her works poo![]() |

We had the same problem Apple until he wanted a name over here we only have 1/2 days notice and sometimes only a few hours he wanted DAD but his trusty homeworker hadn't got a frame we did hmmm and haa about it but eventually agreed to do it for him also told him we had most items in stock and would not let him down like the homeworker we got his next funeral made the sprays larger using cars sp cars chry and smaller rose unfortunately homeworker either couldn't do it or hadn't the experience so we got all his business back.

thanks snowdrop
, I recon thats whats going to happen sooner or later....hopefully sooner. Shes not a trained florist, in a shop or college, I have no idea how she has got away with it this far but I am confident that sometime soon either the FD will come to his senses or she'll cock up badly, which would be awful for the family but I am confident I'll be able to dig him out of a hole when he needs me......it wouldnt be a first for him to give me 10 minutes notice for a coffin spray![]() |
