I had the same problem for the last 6 months when my only staff member had an accident and was off indefinitely. It wasn't worth hiring & training as i knew it would only be for a few months. Sometimes wife would cover for a dew hours. Sometimes a good friend in one of the other shops would cover if she had staff in herself. Other times i would just put a sign up and divert the phone to my mobile. If you were only gone 10-15 minutes most people would find something to do and i never had any complaints. A lot of people were quite happy to have a late delivery as then at least someone would be home. Often said "didn't realize you would do that...work late !". I did use a taxi firm a few times and the cost was quite reasonable for local stuff. It's worth checking that out.

definately a retired person they love it and most need to supplament thier pension we have three an standby for xmas,m/d, valentines and holidays.offer so much per delivery, if you pay by the hour some will take longer to deliver, say a percentage of your delivery charge, you will need to work out your own costs etc
start looking perhaps you have someone who comes in the shop regulary or put up a sign on your door. best of luck ![]() |
