St Georges Day..it's tomorrow!
good lord I totally forgot, how embarrassing a lady just came in to buy a rose for tomorrow and it only twigged when she said we should get tomorrow off work.

Our town makes a big thing of the day and ties it into a 'support local shops' theme so I'm looking forward to work-experiencing it. We've had orders from the local MPs for roses that they give out at stations and we're giving buttonholes to the customers tomorrow.

I don't think England makes enough of a fuss of its saint.
I had my St David's Day window up for the whole of March (well ok, after the day it became my '6 nations window!!!) So get yer flags waiving!!! |

there seems to be a bit of a revival round here - a local restaurant is having a special St Georges Day meal (guess whats on the menu) and the school kids are going wearing something red. Hadn't thought of a buttonhole can you believe...
