Golly, I feel like I am being interogated by the floristry fbi. It's ok I am not out to steal any ones business, just hopefully part with some money and get some gerberas in return.
I understand completely that every business has it's own contacts, I just wanted to see if anybody could help me! as my wholesaler sadly could not. Thank you anyway for your suggestions. I shall continue my search! |

It's actually a really tricky one - for example, yes of course I can give you a whole slew of leads on where to get them but should I, given this is an open forum and I haven't the foggiest who you are. For all I know the company you work for stopped using a shop florist and took you on instead which would go against my principles of supporting commercially based florists. On the other hand, given the supply side of the industry pay to advertise with me and as such need every bit of business they can get I should. My moral dilemma is solved by saying that if you're a subscriber to my magazine -which on the face of it you should be - then ring our office, quote your membership number and under our helpline terms we can give you any advice you like and contact details. However please don't feel offended by the responses ... I don't believe it's meant nastily - just a case of self preservation in an increasingly competitive market. JMO Carrington |

A genuine Thank you though to those who may have seen the fact that I was just genuinely asking for some advice!
Neither was I trying to steal work off anyone or take their clients. It was appreciated and I did not mean to cause offence. Sorry, to any wholesaler / florist / business / enthusiast who may have had the opportunity to sell stock. In today's climate we should appreciate those companies who are still willing to spend money on the luxury of flowers. Especially, when the pound can buy more on foriegn soil. Who knows who will next knock on the door of opportunity. I will of course happily subscribe to the magazine, however, I am not sure I feel inclined, now. I take this opportunity to wish you all the very best in your work. |
