I read on here somewhere recently that asda were putting full blown florist "shops" in all their new stores,,didn't someone on here say they had pictures of such a thing?
Anyway,,after reading that post I went to a town centre partnership meeting ,,I am a member of my town centre group,,and the ASDA folks were there as we are being blessed with a new store in the town centre in the next 18 months. I quizzed them quite bluntly about this both in the public meeting and then later in private afterwards. They gave me their word that it was not the case, they had not heard of any store in the UK that had this facility. The top bloke gave me his contact details and said if I could tell him which store had a working florist in it and where he would look into it properly for me but as far as they were concerned it was not an area they were interested in getting into. He said that they sold flowers obviously,,I told him this did not worry me as I could do much nicer things anyway and that people were fed up with cheap bunches!! It made me feel better anyway! So,,if there are any pictures,,I have the contact details of a top asda chap who promised me a full explanation if I could come up with proof of these rumours!!

yonder near t'asda.
Asda has tried 3 times that i am aware of in my local store, each time has been a resounding flop,it's quite amusing(really it is)they buy all the stuff benches, stands, vases, cello cutters, you know all the stuff we need, too much to name...then they clear out a corner dress it all up...get a couple of semi florally articulate bods (kitchen sinkers/or church flower arrangers at best)then set them free to make things ,even a funeral tribute book appeared once, laugh i nearly split me kecks...they last approx 9months each time....then they close it all down and go back to bunches in buckets...i bet they make more money doing bunches in buckets, despite them being a non profit line in general.
Asda really don't have a clue how we do it...........

Would you
Would you pop a funeral tribute in your trolley along with the baked beans and toilet paper........they have no concept of what a florist provides.
