fuel costs are biting real hardplease, please, please don't ask for delivery a.s.a.p, as pretty much every delivery now has to be planned with frugal fuel use at its core.please be considerate to us poor florists we are only trying to scrape an honest living,if there is a birthday in the family...hell you know about it,order in advance.
All A BIT PIE IN THE SKY, AND TONGUE IN CHEEKBUT...THE BIT ABOUT FUEL COSTS BITING HARD NEEDED SOME FLESH ON ITS BONES...

Fuel costs?? Just getting fuel here at the mo is a problem! People are panic buying!! There really is no need! If they just filled their cars up as normal there is enough petrol for 10 weeks! Not just the 48 hour strike!!

Petrol stations are having to ration their petrol to £20 per person!! So no petrol - no deliveries unless I get on my push bike

PHWOAAR..you say you dont charge for delivery....ouch!!!
The one florist in your area that is charging for delivery how are they doing????,they still keep going despite levying a delivery fee, somebody is willing to pay for this service(and it is a service???)
My wheels dont turn for less than a fiver,i dont just deliver and scoot..oh no.....much, much, much, more than that...the bit i do at the door thats free (i love that bit),but anything involving the vehicle has a cost implication, and as i said it starts at £5.00.

OMG I'm so with you on this but my prob is there are three florist in this town and one of the new upstarts is advertising free this, free that, no delivery charges 10 miles so stupid girl how do i compete???? I don't!!! I'm gonna let her at it and wait for it to sink in..most of my customers are happy to pay delivery charge because they like my work and that will win over most of the time..

Im just gonna put a wee sign up inside the shop, next to the till ( kerrrchiiing ) saying that due to rising costs yadda yadda we regret to inform yadda yadda that you now have to pay for me getting lost up farm track roads in the country with no house name on the wall, resulting in me being lost for an hour when it should only have taken me 15 mins max

It'll just be very simple, "we regret that due to rising charges, as from the 1st may 2008, there will be a local delivery charge of £3 introduced to each order, we appreciate your understanding"
