I'd say for sure the size maybe a bit on the deco but most of my displays are outside so its a hard one to reply too

My brother in law wanted to open a business in town and reserched the area and he said his business had to be on this stretch and no where else

Your shop may well have been there so long because it's good at what it does and caters to a certain market and that's what makes it a winner.

It was more of a bunch selling before i took over very old fashioned

Loyal customers would follow you if you moved.

you most probs right but its the new customers that wouldn't find me that concerns me more as we are getting alot of relocating people in the area and side streets to me are a no no

I know what you mean about the main street you are on, but shops come and go all the time I'm sure you'll be able to find something suitable

yeh i forget you know the town but you also know what its like how small it is and it really has to be in the main stretch and unfortunatly the rents are silly a shop opp me not that big was asking 150 a week .....its congleton not some big posh town!!!!!

You should sit down and do some analysis of your current orders, what are passing trade, what are telephone orders, regular orders etc etc.

Then do a SWOT and PEST analysis and see what that throws up. Might help give you a bigger picture of the whole thing.

town centre rent is exp though, mine isnt classed as the centre but it is quite a bit more than 150 a week

SWOT analysis is where you have 4 x headings Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats and you make a list under each heading

Never heard of PEST tho

PEST is Political, Economic, Social, and Technological - bit more corporate to be honest, you'll be fine with just a SWOT.

Have had my main shop for twelve years, opened a second shop (next to funeral director) about 5 years ago, but closed it after 2 years trading. Was great for funeral work. But to make it pay i needed 'everyday' work thro the door, it was hard , as i could not split my time between both shops and found it very hard to manage both !!I have a great team of staff, but i personally like to be hands on, it didnt work for me, but it does for alot of people. I was so relieved when i closed it ,as my main shop is so busy, i would rather run one shop really well, than 2 not so well !! Good luck in what you decide to do QF....relocation sounds a good option, your customers will soon get to know where you moved too !!
