She will find it very difficult to find a florist to do her wedding on valentines day so i wouldnt worry about overpricing it. I wouldnt take one for VD because i am already overstreached for time on that week and could do without the extra stress. Basically if you decide to do it then remember to take into consideration that the time you will spend just making her wedding bouquet you could have made a couple of hundred just for wrapping cut roses. I am just trying to say think carefully before commiting yourself

thisis a tuff one....
with it taking a few days to prep for val day anyway, taking on a wedding is a lot of a mission...you can expect ypur bfeet to not touch the ground for atleast 48 hours.....i think unless i could employ extra staff i would give it a miss......my advice.....charge at least double what you would have normally charged, and dont forget the delivery of the wedding flowers is going to have great impact on delivering those dozen red rose bouquets so id cost gratly for delivery too.....just to be on the safe side![]()

Gerberas
Hi,
I am relatively new to this too - but Gerberas were sky high at two of my wholesalers around Valentines for anything red (obviously!), pink and cream (because of Mothers' day being do close). Laurier et Rose |

i would take a wedding on but then i can do them standing on my head (not bragging or out
) i find it difficult to turn any work away whatsoever, if it includes venue dressing i would just employ someone just to do that. maybe this is why i get so many headaches![]() However, i would personally charge them double.

I agree with gerbera, charge double plus delivery charge... Valentine's day is mad enough without a wedding. But like someone else said, I would not be able to say no either.
My compatition had a wedding last valentine or mothers day, and I heard that bride was sooo dissapointed with flowers.. Not good...Well I now have a new custormer he he.. But did feel sorry for her.. Make sure you have loads of help 2-3 days before valentine just to condition flowers, and you'll be fine ![]() |

Crazy
Crazy girl........but who needs sleep..
![]() Customer is getting married at peak/busy time...... how can you possibly price flowers nearly a year ahead......I'd tell her there's plenty of time to finalise everything, and if she really wants you to do them, ok, but I certainly think she has to 'play by your rules'...... AND get a booking fee!!!

what about offering high quality silk flowers? I've done this for weddings over the xmas period, used good quality silks but with fresh foliage, that way they can be made in advance & just tarted up on the day.
if she wants fresh double it and add some at least. |
