For a Sat wedding I green up everything i can mon/tues, do everything in oasis/water on wed/thurs, & keep 'em in the cellar. if the wedding is am i do everything the day before, they then join their mates in the cellar. if it's later then they're done early doors, unless i've more than one & then all the b/holes are done but the stems left on, put in water & snipped on the day, whatever will fit in the fridge is also done he he.
Church flowers are usually put in place the night before, venue flowers are done at the shop as far as is possible & put in situ on the day. as much as i can do in advance i do!!! |

for a normal 1 wedding saturday, we get the flowers wed a.m., any greening up done thurs, then work from buttonholes (kept in fridge after) table decs/pedi's/pew ends, bridesmaids then bride last - all on friday, no matter how late i have to stay at the shop. I just can't settle if its not all done, but will still go in early on the sat to check it all over & finish off any bits like binding stems with ribbon, putting bows on pew ends, getting transportation boxes ready, etc.
I am finding myself getting increasingly P'd pff with wedding work for some reason and very, very worried about how I'm going to cope doing it all on my own (fortunately i've had the good sense to only take 1 wedding a day while michelle's off with the baby, but there are a few weeks with thurs/sat weddings or fri/sun so I might just set up camp in the back of the shop on those weeks!!) |

arum, just make sure you have a GOOD address for pizza/chinese delivery!
Our pizza guy knows exactly when we have peaks/are busy and knows also that I HATE salami, ham and onions on my pizza!!Seriously tho, don't you have someone to help out a bit? Even if its just for 'other stuff' like conditioning...hehe, someone 'free' of course ![]()

I have my future mother-in-law who is my 'free' helping hand, but am unsure yet wether she will help out any more than she does now (or if i'd want her to
) as she isn't really 'getting' anything i'm trying to teach her. Also as soon as something better comes along, she's there (understandable, as i'm not paying her anything) so she's quite unreliable - roots/eyebrows/botox come first!!!![]() |
