Has anyone on the board done the NAFAS demonstators exam?

I have I failed only just though, it was so scared, all these people hanging on your every word. If you are confident at speaking to an audience you are half way there. You have to learn and use all the elements and principal of design ie line, rhythm, contrast ect ect. I also had to do a plant identification I was c**p at that, at college they do not teach you garden plant matrial, are you thinking of doing it?

Speaking is not a problem. I demonstrate at the Caithness Floral Art Club every march, and do numerous smaller ones through out the year and a good few towards crimbo. Mum says I have the gift of the gab! he he

Elements of design aren't a problem, simple city and guilds stuff... always sprouting on about those to the sat lass. Although to be honest, with most of the arrangements ive seen some of them do, I think they forgot about most of them!

Plant material shouldnt be too much of a problem either. Just a case of getting into some books!

Do you have to attend a lot of meetings before etc? Main concern is because im so far north i'd have trouble getting to them?

I had to do a training course, can't remember how many times i went. Also had to join a flower club And I had to draw my designs that I was going to do in the test, you also do a mock test.

Im a member of the flower club so thats sorted lol.

They are talking about having something in either Elgin or Perth, both are a bit away but at least theyre in Scotland

Im videoing the demo in March so when ive done it Ill post a link and you can all let me know what you think and then write lovely letters to NAFAS telling them I should pass

Good luck with it all, all I will say is you are about 30 years to young, to be a NAFAS demo You have to wear a twin set and pearls
(only joking)
