The other florist whos in a time warp charges 25.00 per letter 2lips, but we dont, and i wouldnt do it for 25.00, and we still get our fair share, people will pay it,so put your frigging prices up girl, and stop worry bout the scabs round the corner

If you are using 60 stems of double and doing the job at £25 a letter trust me you are making NOTHING!

You should use no more than 30 - 40 stems for the whole job.

Funkey is right ...... don't worry about what everyone else is doing .... keep your head down and make sure everything you do is a credit to you ....... and that you're making a reasonable profit. It takes time but people get the message in the end............

That's really wierd cos i used to average around 7 stems per letter of white double and that wasn't being skimpy either, right down the sides. Suppose it depends on how full your double is and if you manage to get it open. Can't ever remember having to use 30-40 stems.

Tulips, we are the same, we have to charge £25 or we wont get it

hip hip i am not on my own. I can tell you honestly if i charged more than 25 i would not get any work for them and also people would judge me as expensive for everything. i dont actually use 20 stems but always order then use up the rest in other stuff. I have been stung before when doubles have been crap so always have too much in. I do ribbon edge right up to the edge and instead of doing a spray on either end i just do one flower on each letter with ivy and stuff to make it more modern. I have worked it out to what i pay, time etc and i do actually make a profit although not that much. I am actually prob more expensive in other areas of funeral work and this is where i can make the money so you could actually call the letters a loss leader!! My wedding work however is more expensive and we get heaps of wedddings so not too worried. Hey louise a you are in liverpool arent you which is not far from me so it must be an area thing!!

We're about £40 a letter, and additional sprays on the letters are extra (about £15)
