............... get most of your customers calling in and phoning?I'm find mornings are busiest and then a big lull after lunch until half four when all the people call that leave it til the last minute???

Same here ali, and they always come when your just about to close.


Maybe we should close for a siesta and stay open a bit later in the arvo

Well actually i do go home at lunchtimes to let my dogs out(the big two) and i have my phone on call divert to my mobile.Can't see the point in being here all day unless very busy.

I know what its like to have the dog thing! They come first always but.... a shut shop never looks good. That one customer you miss may want to spend £500 (ok unlikely but its possibly a lost sale)

Anyway in answer to your question, the same, busy first thing and at lunch (i'm in town so get the lunch 'rush') and then late arvo.

Would it be cheaper to get someone to check on the dogs Ali? I really do know its very hard, I have days where the other half isnt working from home and I have to get someone to go and check on my dog. We caught him sunbathing in the garden yesterday so he's clearly not that upset about being left!

I know shops that shut at lunch time etc, and I always bypass them cause I'm never sure if they're gonna be open or not.

My colleagues and I are coming to the end of our course now, and some are looking for jobs. Might be worth PM'ing me with details if you want and I can put something up at college (Lackham).

Personally Ali I would not go to the expense of paying someone to watch the shop for the sake of an hour?. Do you have a family member that would check on dogs for you? As the others have said, A closed shop sends out Bad vibes about your business! Dont assume customers will call back later, because usually they WONT !! I have a hairdressers by me, that shuts when they have quiet day... it is always shut by 3pm. Personally , i would never use them because i makes me feel that they are not very good !
