That's the one week of the year when you can judge pretty much what they're going to cost you. Look back over the last few years, they don't vary that much, perhaps go up 20p on the big ones.
They haven't picked Val Day because they want to do it on the cheap, so it's probably not a big issue, bit like going out to a nice restaurant when you could buy all the stuff at Tesco and do it yourself. It's their choice, not yours.

Given that you're a professional, you take the same care as you will with all the other orders you get for that day, so it's no different to someone phoning you now and ordering a hand tied for their wife for Valentines. Would you reject it? Course not. If it was something intricate and time consuming, that would be different.

Just price it accordingly. If they don't like the price, then you can reject it.

I would take it and agree with Amanda and Gemma. Money is money that pays the bills etc. whether it be from a handtied bouquet or wedding. If its red roses she is after then you are quids in - when you order your valentines roses order hers as well. Make sure you charge her the proper rate though.

ugh I know what everyone means money is money...but I stretch myself so thinly at the peaks and especially vals day with all the deliveries having to go on that one day. There are not enough hours in the day for me at peaks and not enough staff to go round

It's personal choice really isn't it. But after doing a few xmas weddings I now draw the line at peak weddings

Yep... (well said,Sosas)thats about the size of it,know your limitations,money may be money but sometimes and peaks is one of those times, there are far easier ways of earning it(and by far easier i don't mean that literally,so please don't take it out of context)..i just mean at peaks for me there is no more give in my elastic....................i'm just about stretched to breaking point..."always without exception".... "but", i wouldn't have it any other way.

Sorry , i wouldnt do it either !....... cant spare a staff member for any amount of time to make this ? Also not enough profit in weddings to warrant getting in a freelancer in ? Need to weigh up the amount time and profit it takes you make the wedding, against the amount of Valentines orders and profit you could make in the same amount of time ?.......
