I would like to open my first shop and was just looking for some advice really. The shop I have been looking at renting was previously a Florists but was only open for about 1 year, do you think this is a bad sign or do you think a shop that was previously a Florist would be a better choice only 1 other florist near by no others around there really. Thanks

I think its something like 1 in 3 businesses fail in the first year and then only 1 in 5 make it past three years, am sure a clever bod on here will know more about that. Scary stuff! Its sounds quite a good idea if it was a florist but if you are starting from scratch you'll need good footfall to get you known.

To be honest I wouldnt worry about as to why florist closed down.. It could be 1 in a million reasons. All that matters is if its in a good location. Only you would know/feel that.
What your gut instinct telling you?? |

Agreed..just think of it as an empty shop and evaluate it on that basis.
