who needs a casket spray when............

my 97 year old great aunt died recently - no biggy she didn't know me or me her that well and my stepmum arranged the funeral - aunt lived in Redditch Step mum in Spain - so being super efficent Step mum thought she'd arrange most of the funeral over the internet - including the purchase of the coffin she rang me with glee (2 weeks after the event) to tell me all about this fabulous coffin that would or could ---- quote ''save florist the job of making them big arrangements on the top of the box''
After reminding her I am four days away from 2 years of studing to be a FLORIST She gave me the web site thought you might like a look and comment your selves on them -
me personally I don't like them - not cos of the lack of flowers needed - I feel I would be spending too much time looking at the coffin than listening to the service - but thats me I have to work out how things are done

anyway have a look

They are certainly very different. Personally I am a traditionalist, so I am not keen on them at all. Sorry.

They are becoming more popular.

I haven't mentioned this on here before but I was, prior to becoming a florist, a Funeral director, and I still get all the literature through as I still work on-call in the nights for removals. Anyway, they cost roughly the same as a 'standard' vaneered coffin - not a budget one, but the normal ones thta most people go for. Certainly a lot less than caskets or solid wood.

And I haven't seen any impact on flowers - most people still have flowers on the coffin. Football and sports themed coffins are the favourites around here.

No , not for me.I think it is hard enough picking a normal coffin when you are so upset leave alone figuring out what pattern to have on it.

Those child ones are creepy, they look more like an Ikea toy box than a final resting place

Strange - but some of the designs could look stunning with right flowers on top - if you think of the sides as a kind of background ??
