Just wondering what else you all sell if anything apart from flowers of course!!I know alot of people do baloons anyone do anything else

Just Me!!!

We sell balloons, cards, handmade welsh soaps and other bits, chocolates, teddies, and some jewellery, also a wedding section with tiaras & jewellery, wedding favours, rose petals etc.

We don't sell an awful lot of any of these items to be honest, but the advantage is that they have a longer shelf-life to flowers, so fill the shop well, and also get people looking around. We only do balloons as gifts at the moment but are planning on doing a course to do balloon decorating for weddings as it's something we get asked about a lot.

We did buy in some general gifts for fathers day from our local balloon wholesaler - mugs, photoframes etc. and they have sold really well, but I think that's because they were being bought instead of flowers for fathers day, I don't think people would buy them from us for mothers day or other occasions, and I wouldn't want to offer them in case they took trade away from the flowers on the important occasions, but for fathers day, where being in a very traditional area means that no-one would buy flowers for their dad's, these gifts bought in a little extra cash.

Amanda, what do u charge your facinators at? I self taught myself how to do them, made three today because i got a lovely Ikea glass shelf unit thingy and they sell well as no one else on the street makes them.

Im always struggling to cost them as they dont cost much to make, just the time takes forever plus plentry of burns!!!

I dont find they take too long to make. Taught myself aswell. I usually charge £10 - £20 depending on how much they want in them and how much notice they give me to make them.

Love the mini calla's with the diamante's in them, ive got them in my shop, use them to decorate black photo frames
