I know a florist who did this type of arrangement in a marquee and a huge gust of wind knocked all the vases over and broke all the vases!!! Luckily she had warned them that she wasnt happy with the stabilty of the vases. They ended up just having just the arrangements on the table. She had made them in O bowls and had taped then to the top of the vases. It was very lucky it happened when they were setting up, so no one got hurt with the broken glass. What a nightmare.

we normaly fill our vases with decorative grit, sand, pebbles and gel but it depends on the size of the vase its self and it gives the design weight
but this one wants nowt in it and i have my doughts about it, a H&S issue but may be im being anal
I think you're right to be concerned as if anything went wrong you'd be the one who got the blame. Can you not use H & S as the issue to help assert yourself with the bride - why does she want nothing in it?
If it's because she wants it clear maybe the clear gel would be a compromise.

I am Lilyladys daughter and our bride does want the clear water pearls in the vase. We have warned her sooo many times till we are blue in the face but she wont listen. We have found a way of doing it, that she likes YAY!!

Have used a cylinder soaked it and then taped to top of vase (covered obviously other ugly water marks down the vase) to cover the sides as she mainly wants the height rather than with we have made a coller out of poly ribbion and she LOVES it or in her words "its lush" Am so happy.

Best bit is she annouced that her friend is getting married next year and wants us to do the flowers, even she said her friend was worse than her. I will be insane by then!!!
