Well, D Day is next Friday for getting in our new shop - any tips, ideas, or things I need to organise please that I might've forgotten?

How excited am I??!!!

i bet your head is buzzing and your mind is on overload
have you got pdq machine supplier on your to do list
have you got your basic sundry list - pins wires box of foam buckets vases flower food scissors knives stapler - and how ever many more you can think of
cello rolls
business cards
sign writer
just a few things i can think of for now
i'm positive everyone else will add to the list

ooooo how exciting, a few things to check maybe: insurance, business rates, water rates, rubbish collection, electric, phone/fax, broadband, and most important 'the till'

Starting to panic now! Thanks everyone for that, we're taking over an existing business so I need to go in and check over the stock don't I. Am so excited I have got the funkiest delivery van ever........ and the most diesel guzzling one at that - when I get it signwritten up I'll put a pic on

Do you think I should go and speak to the existing contracts or just assume they'll want to carry on as they are? All stuff I should've thought of sooner I know but we've only just been given the completion date and things seem to be moving faster nowmthan they were all along!

Oh you're taking over a business! it'll be fun setting about putting your own stamp on the place!!! I'm starting from scratch!! at least your place will be known to be a flower shop so you've not got the added worry of.... what if nobody comes!!!!

I didn't write to any of my corporate customers when I took over the businesss. Unless you think the current owners aren't upto the job and you
are going to make drastic changes to improve things greatly I wouldn't bother.

All mine were happy enough that I moved the business out of the dark ages and computerised everything, in fact I think i've retained nearly all the contracts which is good considering the preicous owners had been doing things a certain way for the last 50yrs and I came and changed everything

ooh It's proably too late now but hope you've sorted out a change over period with the owners, I found that invaluable for getting know what the customers liked and how things were run before.

Thanks Sosas actually I was in yesterday, met a couple of the contracts, and am in again on Wednesday! Actual first day is Friday oh my god I am bricking it
