Rubbish
We have been having awfull promblems with our waste collector BIFFA.
The bill is never correct but they are never able to explian why. The bin collections are consistantly missed. We are always being charged for extra services that we do not have including a missed service charge when they do not collect. I think Biffa is rubbish, does anyone else deal with biffa and what has your experiences been with them? |

We're still waiting for Biffa to phone us back with a price for our waste collection
We phoned them 2 YEARS AGO ![]()

lucky you, our local council doesnt allow "trade waste" in the local tip. and if caught its a whopping big fine! |

Lilylady - PLEASE be careful!!!!!
What you are doing is highly illegal! You cannot remove ANY waste from your trading premises without a waste carriers licence, unless it's via a registered waste carrier service. (not to mention putting trade waste in a domestic bin, which I'm sure the council wouldn't like) It's probably unlikely that you'd ever get caught, but it only takes one busybody person 'in the know' to open their trap & its a whopping fine (£5 k) and prosecution by the environment agency i've tried to get some green bins from our council to put re-cyclable stuff in, but no joy - it's so frustrating ![]() |

Also what happens to home works as they will have cello and other non recyclabe material? Will they be in breach too? Desposing of their TRADE WASTE illegally? I think not!!! Our local tip provides businesses with the facilities to dispose of large amount of trade waste ie cardboard etc and we have been given, by the council a permit for this to happen, therefore NO ONE is acting illegally. So as far as it goes nothing illegal is taking place in our business. We obide by our council rules and have made them aware of how we wanted to do this right from the start and they were MORE than happy for us to do so. So is our local police force who one of the PC's happens to be a family friend but her seniors are well aware of how we operate and they dont have any qualms with it! As we live and trade in Wales we are governed by the Welsh Assembly who have differnt regulations to England. Having once lived in England we are very aware of how councils and the government like to dispose of trade waste. We used to have to pay £40 per week to dispose of our trade waste at our previous shop. I really dont see why i have had to explain myself and the way we operater OUR business.
