Agree Jakey
Yes, I agree with Jakey, would want to chat and clarify everything with her, but obviously don't want to let on that you're a bit stressed about it....how clear are the drawings and notes left by other florist, are you able to decipher exactly what she wants......
![]() Good luck CJ....... Just a thought, is the florist that has done all the ground work with the bride not contactable....I'd check with her first......JMO

i agree we check and double check with each other over all sorts of things.
we have only had one bride send her h/t back and that was coz she wanted it a bit bigger that was done and she was happy,we did have a bridebring i her b/q on the morning of the wedding crying and asking us to do something with it she had bought it with her from where she lived and it was awful so we changed it a bit and she was sooooo happy, the best thing was it came from a florist in the town i used to live in so i knew who had made it!! |

Redhead, your wedding story, is so heart warming ! Makes ya feel good !
Ive got a similar wedding this week to do. Brides gone into the florist a few blocks from me to pay her balance. Ended up having a row with the manager over extra money added on to her bill (long story) But anyway came in uoset and stressed, could i fit her for bride, 4 maids handties, 9 table vases and buttonholes. I have taken the order and she has paid in full and cancelled them. They were soooo rude to her i couldnt believe what she was telling me. The only florist they have is on maternity, even the manager is not a florist !! ![]() |

Not being thick flowaborda - its an obvious question, but it happens more often than you would think. The "manager" can do front of house, banking, accounts, deliveries - see where I'm going here - and never touch a flower. For that he hires a florist. Its an investment.
Probably the most famous (and I use the word loosely) florists in Cov started as a fruit and veg shop, he converted some rooms to workrooms and hired the best, most experienced people he could find, and is now a force to be reckoned with! To my knowledge he has never done so much as a flat pack. But it worked for him.

yeah CJ think I agree with Genista, if you say the girl is ill you can properly discuss it, fancy going on hols when you know you have a fiddly wedding that you've been dealing with for ages
![]() As the others have said tallulah, when you have everything wrtitten down and agreed in your contract it should all go according to plan. The bride will probably have been in the shop several times by the time of the wedding so you should have a really good idea of exactly how they want their flowers

Hi Flower Connexion, ,I get this happening to me on a regular basis, i often wonder if they are just sent to try me, same as yoy, you can't believe your eyes ,flowers half dead, held together with cellotape under a ribbon, pins coming through back of bouquets, gyp thats dead, hand ties for children suitable for adults, bouquets too long, I had one yesterday, the bride told me she was having trouble holding her bouquet she coudn't hold her bouquet properly,(what now i thought!)her aunt (who is a fantastic flower arranger ,her words!)had made them up as a present for her, so me being me ,and up to the eyes with weddings told her to bring it in and i would have a look, in she came an hour later , from a distance i thought "not a bad bouquet" until i turned it round ,the handle was upside down, i coudn't believe it , i wish these flower arrangers would leave well alone, or take a floristry course if they want to dabble in wedding work, well there was one bride in Gretna with sore wrists yesterday, i didn't have time to do anything about it, as it was well glued. i like you, help out where i can, this was a first and i hope the last! All the Brides i have helped out over the years have always been so-o-o grateful and i never charge for helping them out ,bigger full me! i just ask they go back to where they got them from(as some have been from florists shops) and complain, give them my name and address as a contact, and hopefully they will not be too keen to turn out this kind of work in the future !

Hi
We had a young bride to be come in last week she had gone a few times to see her florist about her wedding at the end of the month and it was always closed. So she went with her father on saturday as she was a bit worried and the shop next to the florist told them that it had been shut for a couple of months, As you would imagine she was upset and wanted to know if we could do her wedding, As a rule we only do one a day but I just could'nt turn her away as it was only a couple of handtieds and buttonholes, what really made me mad was the florist did'nt even ring her to tell her that she was closing and return her deposit, I wonder how many more there are. |
