Oooooohhh,,,why didn't I think of that!! Thats good,,I'll say she's poorly. I have had a good look through the order today ,,all clear in my head now except for one thing,,the drawing of the buffet table arr is quite confusing,,very amusing really ,,all clearly labelled where she wants each flower,,how very odd I think. Apparently she saw a large silk arr in my shop back in feb and wants it to look similar,,trouble is,,I can't remember that far back!! A cross between my silk and an arr at a bridal show that I didn't see at all and she drew from memory,,,oh god,, I'll need a gin!!

Don't want to disturb my girl while she's on holiday,,not fair,,I wouldn't like it,,we work hard don't we,,hols are precious,,I'll sort it.

This is came up since this May, when I got a booked wedding for next year of aug.
I am very optimistic but more than a year later who's know...

I'm glad my question gave everyone food for thought..

And it was great to read all your answers. Some of the things people were saying were exactly what I was thinking! Yes, you're right, young J, i am a worrier - always worrying about things before they happen. I suppose it's wondering if I can head trouble off at the pass before it meets me... a long way off, I know, but when you see those Bridezilla programmes, it really puts the wind up you!
My aunt used to have a hairdressing salon in a place called Sutton Coldfield (north of Birmingham) and the nightmare women (and sorry, it was always women!) who used to complain! God; if it was me, I would've had a nervous breakdown.
My aunt would spend hours and hours doing things that looked absolutely fantastic and the women would moan. My aunt would apologise and offer a discount. I would say: "But there was nothing wrong with it! You did exactly what she asked for and it looked fantastic" (and I was very picky in my youth!). My aunt would say it was a difference of opinion and she had to give them the benefit of the doubt because she didn't want to get a bad reputation. But I wonder how many of those women where just "trying it on?"
One day, this old battleaxe came in while I was helping out and asked how much a shampoo and set was and I told her (It was about £4.50, including conditioner and setting lotion or mousse). She said: How much? I can go into Erdington (the next district up, towards the city centre) and get it done for half that."
So I opened the door and said:"Well off you go - there's a bus due any minute." My aunt went bonkers and threatened to sack me. She said; "How ever much a pain they are, you have to assume the customer is always right."
So, I'm thinking back to that day and wondering if I could bite my tongue if it happened to me!
More to the point, I'm wondering if I could have the confidence in my ability to know my work was good and the customer was being unreasonable!
Although I love flowers, and can appreciate good/creative work when I see it, I think I may turn out to be one of the 'plodders', who can help out with the run of the mill things, but will never be an innovator or trend-setter. Only time will tell!

Hahaha.....do you think every florist turns out magnificent displays all day every day....the bread and butter work that makes the money is the plodding work, we all do it.....and then sometimes we get to do the fabulous stuff. And each time you do an arrangement, it's yours, created from your own mind and hands....think that's quite innovative!....
