Designer Board Funeral Tributes

Just had a customer in who is after a design on a board. They want a pint of beer inside a horse race track.

I told them it would have to be quite big because otherwise we cant get the definition of the shapes right.

My only problem is they want it standing up inside the hearse against some sort of stand. Ive just phoned the undertaker and asked him if he has such thing and he said no. He said there is an 8 inch screw at the back that holds the coffin in and we could prop it up against the coffin and the screw would hold it in place, im worried about damage though to the tribute if he did this.

He said he'd seen a dartboard sat against a type of A board, but this has happened only once in all his time and he doesnt know if it was specially made.
Does anyone know if you can get something like this, bearing in mind once its soaked it will be quite heavy and im not sure plastic will hold it.

There is some kind of oasis platform for 2 letter designs. I got one from my wholesalers. It was like off cuts of the bottom of the designer board.
or there is a metal stand that comes with the fisher man, but i think designs like that are too big for it and we dont use the metal stand but its like a esal (sp) that painters use

You can buy a tribute stand from Oasis, but again not really suitable for anything large and heavy. Having said that it might provide enough support while in the hearse to stop it moving about. Trouble is when they take it out they'll expect it to free stand as well which could be dodgy. I would have thought the non slip mat together with something to lift it a bit should stop it moving about if it's laying against the coffin

I can see this being a total nightmare, ive got visions of the stand or even tribute snapping in half

I did a 4ft 'Joint' for someone last year and used a 4 by 2ft design board and I used a letter bar to support it. This worked fine as my daughter in law went to the funeral and said it held up well hope this helps

did they have it standing up though mary?? or was it lying flat on the floor when out of the hearse

Could you not reinforce the frame on the back with a couple of bits of wood? Make like an extra frame on the back, just to tough it a bit?

i wouldnt be too worried about it if they didnt want it standing up, its just the actual frame to make it stand up that i need

It was stood up in the hearse on the side of the coffin it worked for me an there was a lot of weight in it
