Am I missing something - I know Im an old foggy but if one more person asks for a venus fly trap I will scream. Since when did they become all the rage......have they been on telly, has beckham got one ???????

OK I give in and have now said I will get some tomorrow - whats the betting they have all gone !!

I get loads of people every week asking me for these, and when I get them they don't want them!
My advice is if you need to sell them for more than £2.99 don't bother.

I've had them and they never bloody sell. I think mine were about 4.99 though. Clearly far too expensive! Heems do a sort of mix pack of them but they arent the 'typical' fly traps.

Ive ordered for tomorrow as I have a least 2 definate sales. Theres 12 in the tray but they are a mixture of different types.

We tend to get a lot of kids past at the weekend so I will put up a big "on special" sign and see what happens

I think I labelled mine as 'man plants' ! Guys love them for some reason. Think its cos they always like things to have a 'purpose'. Hence why they ask, 'yes, but what does it DO?'

I think it's kids who must like them. I remember crazing my parents for a venus fly trap when I was about 10 and then having hours of fun poking flies in the little head bits.

I got home from work today to be met at the door by a pair of gleeful boys excitedly hopping around, talking over one another to tell me that their Venus Fly Trap had indeed trapped a fly. My four year old son was explaining how it tempted the fly in, while the other was itching to tell me how it snapped shut.

By the way, he is 32. And every time we get a downpour, he throws a plastic bowl onto the grass from our first floor window to collect rainwater for this pampered plant. Except he then stores it in my old Volvic bottles and had the very cheek to complain when I accidentally drank one!!!! bastard

God Im worse than a child - one of the venus fly traps has found a slug, it has it by the head and the rest is sticking out. Its no longer for sale until its had its lunch BUT its proving a great talking point and helping sales !!!!!!!!!

oooh now that would be a good slug trap hahaha shame they don't like our cold british weather or I'd out them in my veggy patch
