Hi everyone

On the 1st September, my lil shop will be 1 year old! I cannot believe how quickly that time has passed.

Anyway, I wanted to do something to mark the occassion and get customers involved in the celebrations. The birthday is actually on a monday, but I thought I may wait until the saturday to do something. The shop is not majorly busy on a saturday, but there will be more passing traffic etc.

Already I have the following in mind..............

* Some sort of exciting major window display. I am thinking of making a huge tiered birthday cake (Not sure exactly how yet) with a big no1 on top.

* No1 helium balloons tied to the pavement sign all week

* I've already included some discount coupons in a small mailing I did last week

* I will start to hand out discount coupons to customers for the actual saturday (10-20% off maybe, or free flower- not sure??)

* Am going to write to local press to let them know we are 1

* Have asked my friends and family to pop in during the day for a glass of champagne, so the shop is nice and buzzy

What is missing?? There is nothing very exciting about any of this really!

Does anyone have any suggestions??

What about a celebratory drink for the customers on the day and a actual slice of cake maybe !!!!

You could get a Number One Balloon (3 foot tall) and theme your window around it also Contact your local press for a bit of free advertising
