probably just as well you didn't watch it. would put you off buying meat from a supermarket for the rest of your life!

These 2 undercover reporters wired up with cameras who managed to get jobs in Tesco/Sainsbury. Filmed things like.

How do you lift the drain cover in the floor when it gets blocked up with crap?
Oh..we just use this big knife to lift it out.
You mean the same knife that you're cutting up the meat with?
Who cares.

we cover up all the meat every night to stop it drying out!
what with?
these black bin liners.
How long before you throw them out and use clean ones?
Oh...about a week before they get tatty.

This meat hasn't got a sell by date!
oh...just put tomorrows date or something on it.

This meat is way past it's sell by date!
That's ok...we'll mince it up tomorrow.

Then the bird who's handling the liver and stuff...moves across to the fresh fish....then on to the other meats....wash hands in between...don't be silly!

Then they get someone into the factory that makes ready meals for tesco. The guys are meant to change their wellies when they go to the dunny cos they'll be walking in the pee and stuff on the floor..but they don't bother so they walk it all back out into the prep room. On the floor of the prep room are the buckets that they use to scoop out all the ingredients for....the ready meals!

And the guy in tesco who says he has no choice but to bend the rules cos if he doesn't reach his profit targets for the month, the boys in head office will give him the big heave-ho.

I suspect most peolpe will just think....that's just one grotty store in east london....it wouldn't happen in our store cos we live in a nice area. Oh really????
