Does anyone know of a good supplier for freeze dried petals - have seen the silk ones but think they look really fake and would like some good quality ones for my own daughter's wedding. The pressure is really on - everyone will be expecting the real wow factor from me so want everything to look right.

have you thought about fresh ones they look lovely and then you can use the same roses as are in the wedding flowers

i would use real they look fab and smell really wonderful and they most probs cheaper as you can get the shortest rose same as wedd rose at cheaper price

There's a company called Truly madly Deeply that supplies Freeze dried petals. Unfortunately they don't sell to trade anymore. Worth a look at their site though which is, I think, www.trulymadlydeeply.biz. You may need to take out a mortgage for them but they are really gorgeous.

cant believe ive just had a customer asking me about that company. She said her daughter has ordered 2 boxes of blue hydrangea petals at 25 quid a box and they have sent her 2 boxes of different blues, and over charged her!!

She's not happy

Bloody hell! Knew they were expensive but thought the service would be better than that! I take that back then. If any one does know a supplier let me know because I want to stock them.

I often get asked for dried petals and most people don't realize it's cheaper to use fresh ones unless you really want them to last for ages, which most don't.

I read somewhere than you can stick whole rose heads in the microwave and preserve them. Tried a couple of times but fried them to death. Does anyone know if this is true?

If it happens again...don't waste them...eat them.

I would have thought a very low oven would be less severe....even 'sun dried' is more controllable.

I have to say they didn't smell all too pleasant! Probably better things I could be doing on quiet days than cremating my stock. Liking the sun dried idea though.
