Thats a very good example and good point. I'm sitting here trying to think why they think we will do stuff for free. It is the same in gift industry though. Everyone wants everything for nothing. On the flip side, some shop owners think that if they do stuff for free then that customer will come back again, which is true, but in my opinion they do come back but they're never big spenders and usually a pain in the ass.

Had a polish woman in once who didnt speak a work of english.

She picked up 3 stems of xanths and bought them to the counter and gave me 6p. 3x 2 pence pieces.

Now trying to tell someone who doesnt speak english that they havent enough money is pretty hard, without shouting (i know she's not deaf) but thats how it ended up. she just kept saying polski.

i kept saying NOT ENOUGH

i showed her a pound coin out the till and put 3 fingers up to say she need 3 of these coins, and she just kept shaking her head.

She then picked up a knife off the counter, and i thought my time was up, and she started to draw something on my nice new counter with the bloody knife.

I grabbed it off her and showed her the door, while she was shouting at me in polish!!

Hi, being an ex hairdresser i can tell you that they do bring in all sorts of colours tints etc and expect you to put them on for free. The pensioners are the worst stealing little things like the ash trays(no more ,no smoking)hair brushes etc.
