i had a girl in yesterday, she comes in while on her mobile, looks around for a couple of mins and says how much are these. 75p i said.
She said to the person on the phone, do you want me to get you some flowers as well. Then while still on the phone, comes to the counter to ask to borrow a pen. Pulls out a card ( not from my shop) and writes it in front of me. then walks out, no flowers!! |

when i just started out working for someone else, a woman came into the shop with loads of flowers , a couple of armfulls at least and said "would you arrange these into three bouquets for me?" i said yes i will, it will be £30 each, she walked out telling me that was disgusting, people are just cheeky

i had another one come in, wasn't really paying attention when she asked how much my care cards were, i just said help yourself, they've got all my details on so dont mind giving them out but the cow had an armful of waitrose flowers. Luckily she left the shop before I had time to abuse her.

Oh Alice, you poor thing, some people are so cheeky
had a gypsy funeral the other day, so gangs of them came in to get my cards only, so I was busy peeling off my labels off the back, they weren't happy being charged for the cards, then they asked for cello envelope and and cardettte!!!!

the old dears are the worst, £1.99 spray cars then, can i have a card, an envelope and a cardette, it gets to a point when you just have to charge them for it, my best one, bought some sweet williams, and said "can i have a card, a stick, an envelope 2 packs of flower food, a piece of tissue and some ribbon, and then moaned about me charging for it, trying to run a business not a charity, if people want to buy gift cards from me now without buying flowers i say "that will be 50p please"

Bit like going into supermarket for a bottle of wine and asking for a free gift bag. It aint gonna happen is it! I had an almighty row with a french woman once who came in and bought the cheapest presents and demanded to have them wrapped for free. The owner at the time was happy to oblige. However, the day she put her cheap old tat down and said 'Wrap it' I went right off at her. Really did give her what for. I explained it's customary to say please and thank you. Rude old bag. She didn't come back again. Shame.

it is just unbelievable how cheeky some people are, i often compare a florist to a hairdresser, you wouldnt buy a bottle of hair dye, take it to the hairdresser and say, "will you just put this in for me" no one would dream about doing that so why is a florist different
