he really enjoyed it, but he was a bit sick like that

I get jittery dropping off funeral flowers!

We have had lots over the year a few bad ones but quite a few good ones over ten years we have had five Saturday girls/boy and 3 have come to work for us full time, over the space of about 3 years one changed her mind about what she wanted to do and came full time in to floristry she was exellent and had waht I call "it" (met a lad on holiday now lives in Sheffield) still she was with us over five years, we have an 18 year old young man at the moment he's good.
We now try to vet them a bit to see if there is any interest in design etc but you can still get the odd pain in the butt. Our son is 14 next week so I am starting to understand the age group a little better

as for dead people it does'nt bother me it the living one's that give me the creeps somtimes

Alice.....haven't you ever delivered funeral flowers and been directed to the room with the body in and lid off?

i have quite a few times and i cant help but look!!

went to one house once and knock on to deliver the stuff, there was no answer for a minute, so i went to the front window to knock on there because the light was on and the coffin was there right at the window with the lid off

Not a problem for me but my better half had to wire a garland on an open wicker coffin 3 weeks ago that was bad enough but as the funeral director said when she got there she's gone off a bit over the weekend noe that's not pleasant

eurgh eurgh eurgh!! i don't even like the smell in funeral directors..gives me the creeps big time

oh.. back to the work experience girl..we have them but only if they have an interest in art/design/floristry etc you can waffle in the interview about what they'll what will be expected of them, their conduct, responsibilities (lots of brews), health and safety,appropriate clothes and shoes etc

you never can tell if they will be useless or not, our last one in may was quite good and will make a good saturday girl and helper at busy times.

p.s. i did my work exp in a florist too and went onto be a saturday girl
