Am getting seriously racked off with brides who wander in and expect you to drop everything to talk to them. Haven't got the time and especially haven't got the inclination when they take the huff because your up to your eyeballs in flowers and can't stop to 'chat'! And have had more 'ring arounds' these last few weeks than I can remember (not just for weddings either).

i normally just get the "have you got a book/brochure/portfolio we can look at for weddingsl" whenever they feel like appearing to discuss flowers, and I politely reply that our portfolio is on the computer and we normally make appointments for consultations so we have time to properly discuss things with them. I don't mention the milllions of wedding books and magazines we have as well
must admit though sometimes when you mention booking an appointment their eyes just glaze over, I think i should be a bit more forward and say would you like me to book you in now rather than just giving them a business card and leaving it upto them i had one in today who asked about wedding flowers and if she could see some pics etc it turned out she was just nosying on behlaf of her neice whos actually getting married!

Yep ive heard it all now....must say since the supermarkets have started with there discounts ive had many more people ask for a discount.
I worked in kensington for a while and they were the worse,if they spent a tenner they wanted greenery for free or money off....we had customers that spent thousands and we never gave them a penny off....i think once you start doing it for one person its never ending. I learnt my lesson im gonna be the hardest florist ever!! I miss woking in a shop...people,even tossy customers...im getting married soon and after my honeymoon will try and get a job then. Mean time weddings from home and snotty brides!! |
