Hows the wedding trade out there? Can you believe,we're quieter this year, but we've got a wedding the day before Christmas eve, and one the day after Boxing day!! I'm not complaining,but of all the day's in the year! and, they're both RED

I can only comment on what I ship to my customers in the UK, and the last few weeks have been pretty good for weddings.

I have noticed a trend that certain areas are very hit & miss.

This week for example, I have had good orders for the south of England, and the Midlands was very good, but North Wales for example was a waste of time.

About four weeks ago was about the best week. Weddings seem to using a decent amount of flowers at the moment, which I don't mind of course.


What I also think might be happening for the general florist is that the amount of wedding planners/florists working from home is beginning to have an affect.

I also worry about the wedding season as I copy wedding bouquets into paper for first wedding anniversaries and I'm finding it hard to work when the wedding seaon is!

Hi emma, there doesn't seem to be a wedding season now that civil ceremonies are all the rage. Our last weddings this year are 23rd Dec. 24th Dec and 27th Dec. Two weeks ago a guy walked into our shop at 10.oclock,said he wanted to order wedding flowers,we said when for ,Monday!! he said, we worked our batties off, he collected them at 10.oclock,gave me a big kiss, and a hug 'cos he was so pleased, didn't get a bit of wedding cake tho!!

that's good news then so fingers crossed I'll bust all year round. I must say I get about 2 days warning to make a bouquet and I end up working til 4am!

Me and my big mouth!! would you believe we have four weddings on 29th and 30th October,and I'm supposed to be attending one of them Gosh I hope we get through thaat weekend without any hiccups
