There's a digital version or hard copy with Cd (mine arrived today) - am really looking forward to getting stuck into it. Its from the U.S. so some of the info may not be entirely relevant to us here in the UK but overall i think it is worth a look at.

Don't want to be horrible, but looking at the write up on the webpage it looks a load of tosh. I mean.... "Imagine having an exciting high-paying job that lets you use your creativity to brighten people's lives with flowers. Welcome to the world of floristry!" HIGH-PAYING???? WTF?!

Personally I think the best way to learn the skills properly is at college or on the job - not from a book or some online course.

I did say it was American! Its not intended to replace on the job training or college courses - nothing can beat that; its is aimed at those wanting to change career ie people like me in well paid jobs that they can't afford to jack in for something they have no experience in. Its intended to give an overview of what they might expect. Haven't read it yet, but chapters I have thumbed through have been of interest to me - thanks for your opinion, that's what the forum is for

Good for you though with the career change thing. I left a well paid job for it and haven't looked back since (much....!)

I know that I'll be in the same position as you in the next couple of years and probably be saying to myself why didn't I do it sooner! I want to be as prepared as poss before jumping which is why I devour every bit of info I can get - have set up to do freelance at the mo alongside my full time job so I can get the mortgage down, otherwise it'll be a case of selling the house, moving into a flat and using equity for a shop. Would rather keep my house and get the shop - hopefully its doable.

Can sympathise completely am about to start college course part time as well as working my real job to pay the bills and hoping to do some freelance on the side too over the next year or two. Not sure what direction i am going to go in but hoping to get there eventually, and like you grab every piece of info going that i can, anything that can help me get on and make the leap

hi tree, im an americian and I just want to let u know that most of the florists except for the few very good ones , do really rubbish, garbage. They take one of each type of flower and throw it in ,to make it look full, most of the time you cant make head or tail from the design. The european designs are far better, so when it comes to floristry im not proud to be americian. But when it comes to a barbecue i say count me in
