I don't get why some shops won't sell foliage, I came up against the same prob when I was a student, surely a sale is a sale and turning your stock can only be a good thing? And if we don't help the students learn we only have ourselves to blame when we can't find florists to fill our job vacancies.

Phew, that was a bit of a climb, getting down off me soapbox

Foraging: Sneaking about in bushes stealing greenery (useful tip, take a dog with you and you don't look like a deviant) I think its legal to do it but not legal to sell on your 'finds'. And no, it doesn't mean bin digging! I have some standards you know!!!

Bloody Tesco have an offer on Orchids at the moment. Absolute bar stewards. Is there anything they wont do a deal on. With regards to what Tree said, thats stupid a florist not selling foliage. A sale is a sale isn't it.

The worst large store to use if you wanted to buy their cheap goodies to sell in your shop is IKEA! their glass vases are sooooo cheap but they've etched IKEA in to the bottom of the glass. gutted. And my nearest IKEA is in warrington, miles away so no one would have known!

I don't actually know, one of my customers very kindly told me as I tried to flog her one of my £8.99 Miltonia Orchids (Is that the right name, doesn't sound very exotic!) I think they're doing bogof off something like that. Mine was in a nice square black bag so she had mine, bet tescos ones weren't nicely wrapped.
I'm just doing a vase arrangement for the bar next door and I've used five mahoosive aliums from Waitrose. £5.99 for five. Ridiculous. (Don't make a habit of buying their flowers to sell on but it is for a friend!

Get yourself some stickers and pop em over the ikea sign, by the time it washes off it'll be too late to bring em back. Winner.

I shouldn't really say this but I don't care, the flowers Direct sales lady positively encouraged me to buy IKEA stuff and sell it on! Is it legal?
I'm due a visit too but putting it off as I can't control my spending, cos its so cheap you go, oh I'll have five of them and it soon racks up.
