Do your customers do this???

Say youve got something that you are about to take off sale because its going over, or you already have taken it off sale.

i have a little corner which is pretty much out of sight where i put stuff that i dont want to sell because its not nice anymore.

Customers walk straight past the lovely full fresh stand of flowers and head straight towards the corner with the old stuff in, and you can guarantee they want it???

just took some scabious off sale, soon as i done it, customer wants it.

i dont get it.

Ellie...if they're happy to buy it and they accept that it's not fresh and it means you get your money back...be happy..You might worry that someone will come to visit them and ask where they bought that sh#t but..think about it. People always leave their fresh flowers till they're way past it so it's no different really.
I know we all have our standards and our pride...but we also have our mortgages.

It's so annoying - no matter how well you hide it, it's like there's a homing device on them!

I do sometimes sell them to cover my cost, but not that often.

yeh we usually tell ppl its not as fresh as the rest so we will sell to you for cheaper.

there is one guy (hes awful actually!) he doesnt come in a lot. but when he does he comes in at the end of the day on a friday and asks for everything cheaper.. so when we refuse he says " what you dont sell things cheap at the end of the day? like tesco?" !!!!

we really dont like him so we say no...
anyways i have seen him doing this by a lot of other people .. but some people will do this... strange.

if i get time chum, i'll bring your book back on sunday.

im going to have another look this weekend, i liked the easter ideas, but i'll have to wait for that.

people also want to buy the things you can't sell ie a bucket full of wedding flowers or want to buy the whole wraps of flowers that are lying on the floor waiting to be put in water instead of the conditioned ones i've just displayed. then you get
"i'll have a bunch of those"
me- "yes thats fine, there are 5 bunches in that wrap"
"oh, is there?" whilst looking at the ones on display.
me "they're wrapped up tightly in this bunch for transporting, its not one big bunch- dumb ass"
"I'll take 2 stems then please".

this happens here all the time, and the reason is... people are tight
